If you enter 100 USDT and see a 1 USDT fee, will the recipient get 99 or 100? Answer that before choosing the cheaper route. The key difference is whether the fee comes out of the entered amount or requires an additional balance.
Exclude routes that cannot credit the recipient
Check the accepted asset, network and minimum first. A low fee does not fix an unsupported route. Use the network guide before comparing prices.
Make sure both quotes achieve the same goal, from the same starting point to the same receiving account. If one route needs conversion, bridging or another platform transfer, include those steps. Comparing an entire route with only the last charge of another route hides costs.
A route excluded here needs no price comparison at all. If it cannot credit, its fee is only a number.

The same fee can produce a different receipt
The following is arithmetic with hypothetical fixed fees and no unlisted deductions. It is not a current Binance or network quote. Assume 100 USDT is entered:

Entering 100 and delivering 100 are different targets. Choose the target before declaring one quote better.
What if exactly 100 must arrive?
With the same fixed 1 USDT fee, enter 101 if it is deducted. If paid additionally, enter 100 and still prepare 101 in total. Once the receipt is equal, these two examples cost the same.
This shortcut assumes a fixed fee and no other deductions. If the fee is proportional or the quote changes when the amount changes, recalculate and reread the confirmation. “Add one” is not a general rule.
A small test needs the same reasoning. A hypothetical minimum receipt of 20 and fixed deduction of 1 requires 21 entered, without other charges. Check the real minimum, precision and any receiving charges on the current page.
Define the denominator before calculating a percentage
Our calculator uses all entered fees divided by the entered transfer amount. An amount of 100 with total fees of 1 gives 1%; an additional 0.5 makes 1.5%. This compares quotes at the same entered amount, not the cost as a fraction of net receipt.
If your objective is a fixed receipt, work backwards first. Convert gas paid in another asset to USDT using a stated price and retain both the original fee and conversion price. Adding 0.001 ETH directly to 1 USDT has no useful unit.
Do not skip that conversion. Comparing two figures in different assets usually produces the opposite conclusion.
Will a test cost an extra fee?
It can. Two transfers at a hypothetical fixed fee of 1 each cost 2 in fees. With changing network quotes, read each quote separately rather than multiplying the first one by two.
A test checks receipt on that path; it does not guarantee the main transfer's safety. Meet the receiving minimum and reserve enough for the main transfer's costs. You can pause if a meaningful test exceeds the budget.
There is a ready-made floor for a test amount: the smallest sum the recipient will credit, plus the fee you pay on that transfer. Below that line, a test neither proves the money arrives nor recovers its own cost.
When the quotes are close
List extra tasks beside the fee: conversion, buying a gas asset or using an unfamiliar bridge. A small saving on the last withdrawal may disappear into spread and intermediate costs.
Record network, amount, time and expected receipt with each quote. Refresh it after changing the amount or waiting through maintenance. Before confirming, read two numbers: what you spend in total and what the recipient should get. For an unclear charge, consult the different fee categories.
